Fine Lines Due To Aging Laser
Laser skin resurfacing is one of the more increasingly popular laser treatments these days. It’s an option for both women and men who want to reduce fine lines due to aging, or treat skin blemishes or acne scars. This fine lines laser treatment is also referred to as lasabrasion or a laser peel. It’s common for people to be skeptical about what a laser can do to improve the appearance of their facial skin, but once they see the results that are possible they tend to change their minds.
Here at Maya Laser, having women express interest in a laser treatment for fine lines due to aging is something we’re seeing much more often. We’re pleased to be able to offer them a fine lines treatment using our dual-wavelength laser treatment unit, and this type of treatment is particularly effective for fine lines around the eyes, mouth, or on the forehead. It is also good for shallow acne scars, but less effective for deeper and more pronounced scars.
Our Candela Gentle Max laser unit has Alexandrite 755nm and Nd: YAG 1064 nm wavelength modes to ensure effective non-ablative photo rejuvenation. By non-ablative, what is meant is that there are no layers of the skin removed by the laser. This is preferable for best results with reducing fine lines due to aging, and this treatment is also effective for women who have non-responsive skin following a facelift.
More Youthful Looking Skin
It’s true that no one escapes time, and as the years pass more fine lines due to aging will be seen on our face. We have seen firsthand what a fine lines laser treatment is able to do to restore more youthfulness to patients’ skin, and we highly recommend it as a result. It’s suitable for people of either gender and any age, and here’s what you can expect with your fine lines treatment.
It shouldn’t take more than 45 minutes to complete, and for the 24-hour period following the treatment, you will need to clean the treated area 4 to 5 times a day. Applying a layer of petroleum jelly is recommended too, as it prevents scabs from forming. Keep in mind as well that it is common to experience swelling following a laser treatment for fine lines due to aging. One tip to reduce swelling is to put an extra pillow on top of your regular pillow to keep your head elevated while you sleep.
The only ongoing recommendation for anyone who’s had this type of fine lines treatment is to wear a quality SPF30 or higher sunscreen on your face following your treatment. It’s a good habit to get into, and wearing one regularly when outdoors in sunlight can go a long way in preventing those fine lines and wrinkles from reappearing.
