Laser Treatment For Nose Hair
Hair removal treatment offered here at Maya Laser that’s going to be interest to men and women. Excessive nose hair growth is a problem that affects them much more than it affects women, and most men have to pluck unruly nose hairs. It’s either that or trim them with scissors very frequently to prevent them from extending out of your nostrils. Fortunately, we are able to provide men with a laser treatment for nose hair if they’d like a more permanent solution to the problem.
While we’re discussing this area of the face, it should also be mentioned that we do laser hair removal on top of nose too. This is more commonly known as eyebrow (or unibrow) reduction where excessive hair growth between the eyebrows is unwanted. This of course is more commonly seen with men too. If you’d like to be less hairy between your eyebrows, then we can help you with that too.
The most important mention with a laser treatment for nose hair is to say that the nostrils are extremely small body cavities. For this reason it can be difficult for treating with a laser. Our technician at this Victoria skin laser clinic is an expert with the machine, however, and we’re able to perform this treatment with safety and fairly consistent results.
Nose Hair No More
The limitations we talked about above here make it so that a laser treatment for nose hair is only going to be able to disable hair follicles that are located near the opening of the nostril. It will not be possible for the laser to reach follicles that are further back in the nostrils. It’s important to know that even if this were possible, it’s not something that you would want to do.
Nose hair works to prevent small foreign substances from travelling up the nostril and into the sinuses, windpipe, and lungs. So while it’s fine to trim long nose hairs that are rooted further back in the nostril, you wouldn’t want to remove them permanently with a laser treatment for nose hair.
Keep in mind as well that you can expect a higher level of temporary pain when treating this area of the body with a laser. The laser will be entering a mucous membrane, and this is a much more sensitive surface. The temporary pain with a laser treatment for nose hair is worth it for many people though, as they know they’re working towards a permanent solution.
Other considerations are the same as would apply for any laser hair removal treatment. It will generally take between 3 to 5 treatment sessions before the hair ceases to grow back, and patients should be prepared to make follow-up treatment appointments within 7 days of regrowth first appearing.
